Update: 9/19/2025:
Cristin was finally moved from Memorial Sloan Kettering (our “home away from home” for almost two weeks) to Mount Sinai West.
When we arrived, it was almost a nightmare. They put her in a shared room with a lady who was loudly discussing her bowel movements and how the commode was too small. Not good at all. We did not know coming to New York that shared hospital rooms are just the thing up here, but that is definitely not what we are accustomed to.
Cristin immediately went into crisis mode (and I totally get it). I spoke with a nurse, explained our situation, and thankfully, they had a private room available. It was a little extra cost, but definitely worth it!
Now she’s in a much nicer space: private bathroom, mini-fridge, wood floors, and just a calmer more serene environment. She’s much happier now, and we both feel a bit more at ease.
