Update: 9/17/25: Today was a fairly quiet but very good day for my beautiful wife. She finally got the shower she’s been patiently waiting for after more than a week and a half. Getting her hair washed and feeling truly clean again lifted her spirits so much. We also found out that she does not have any infection like they had previously feared. Whew! Prayers helped and thank you to all that were sending them!

Not long after her shower, Michelle—the Occupational Therapist—came by and got Cristin up and moving. She walked nearly the entire 4th floor of MSK, a good 75–100 yards. She did amazing, and I could not be prouder of her progress.

We also learned that because of her higher drain output, we’ll likely be here until Monday or so before rehab can accept her. That’s okay—we’re in no rush. We’ll follow the doctors’ guidance and take things one step at a time.
